U.S. plans to give $1.3+ billion/year to the Muslim Brotherhood dictatorship in Egypt?

$16+ Trillion in National Debt and Still Spending?

Egypt is ranked 16th world-wide in overall in global military firepower, under a new Muslim Brotherhood dictatorship that is violating human rights with reckless abandon, and yet the current White House administration thinks that it is a good idea to send over a billion dollars of our tax money each year to provide more M1A1 Abrams battle tanks, F-16 Fighting Falcon’s and AH-64 Apache attack helicopters to a dictatorship that wants to establish Sharia Law and destroy Israel.  What in the world for?   To “purge” all the “dhimmis” and any Egyptian under suspicion according to the whim of Mohamed Morsi, the “police”, snitches or the Muslim Brotherhood ?

“Insanity in individuals is something rare — but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs it is the rule.”
– Friedrich Nietzche

We’re Leading on Behalf of Freedom?

  • 306 Helicopters (includes AH-64 Apache helicopters)

Total Land Weapons: 51,965

  • Tanks: 3,980 [2012]  (includes about 1,000 M1A1 Abrams tanks)

Where did all of the human rights activists disappear to now that we really need them?

Mathematicians, Scientists & Engineers — Not the kind of immigration the President wants?

House passes immigration bill

“Today, Republicans in the House made their first legislative overture to the community when they passed the STEM Jobs Act, a bill that ditches a program that issues 55,000 permanent residency visas by lottery, but automatically hands a permanent visa to immigrants working toward an advanced degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”

….

“While some Democrats joined in the 257 to 158 vote, most, including President Obama, oppose the measure because it gets rid of the Diversity Visa Program.”  By the way the bill refers to it as a “diversity lottery green card system”, not a “diversity program”  in other words our President would prefer to gamble away our future on a lottery.  Or should he recruit the best and brightest talent and reward those who will provide the greatest benefit to our great nation?  Reference Creating a “Brain Gain” for U.S. Employers: The Role of Immigration by the Brookings Institution.

How ironic that our President spends $1 billion on a program that seeks to hire 10,000 math and science teachers, yet at the same time aims to turn away immigrant mathematicians, scientists and engineers in favor of a green card lottery.

U.S. President Barack Obama pays off the Bank of China Credit Card?

The continuing saga of U.S. national debt and the annoying debt ceilings that get in our way and prevent us from spending  money that we don’t actually have…

Chapter I

President Obama – July 2008 (video)

“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – number 43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic...”

Chapter II

President Obama – September 2012 (video)
Starting at the 2:00 mark…

“Who do we owe the money to?” – David Letterman

“Well, … a lot of it we owe to ourselves because if you invest in a treasury bill or something like that then essentially you’re loaning the government money, in fact the majority of it is owed by the folks who live here… but we don’t have to worry about it short-term.  Interest rates are low right now [pause] … but it is a problem long-term and even medium-term.”

Chapter III

President Obama – December 2012 (article)
What do you mean we’re not able to overhaul the tax system and entitlements in two weeks?

“Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of.  One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s value out of a week.”

Charles Richards

Chapter IV

… And it is here we that we return to  foresight,

Foresight! … the most critical attribute of a great leader… foresight is the ability to see a problem before it becomes a problem, and to solve it with a solution that is good in both the short… and in the long-term.”

Dr. J Rufus Fears

It appears our great Commander and Chief foresaw the original problem way back in 2008, however dismissed it as recently as in September 2012; it’s just a medium & long-term problem, and now he only has two (2) weeks to solve it…

“He that rises late must trot all day.”

Benjamin Franklin

“And thus the whirligig of time brings in his revenges…”

William Shakespeare

Show us the data…

After watching the two videos I seem to be missing some very important data… In the first video (2008) our national debt was on a “credit card from the Bank of China”, but after watching the 2nd video (2012) I now realize that President Obama brilliantly transferred most of our $16 trillion in national debt from the Bank of China credit card to U.S. treasury bills.   Unfortunately I am having quite a bit of difficulty finding the data that backs up our President’s claim;  I must be missing something, I can’t imagine that he’d lie to the American people, why that’d be irresponsible, in fact it’d be darn-right unpatriotic.

Story of Freedom – In Memoriam of Dr. Fears (Mar 1945 – Oct 2012)

The following video …  Clouded Horizon:  The Future of American Freedom is a recording of Dr. Fear’s last lecture before he passed away this October; it is published in his memory.

“Dr. Fears was an American historian, scholar, teacher and author on the subjects of ancient history, the history of liberty, and the lessons of history.”

The University of Oklahoma

There are a number of memorable quotes in this lecture, for example beginning at the 2:45 mark…

“It is exactly when a nation is at its height that a leader must exhibit the most important attribute of leadership and that is [pause] …  foresight!… foresight!…  Already in the 5th century B.C. the profound historian Thucydides said that foresight was the most critical attribute of a great leader.  And foresight is the ability to see a problem before it becomes a problem, and to solve it with a solution that is good in both the short… and in the long term.”

I highly recommend watching the entire video that honors Dr. J Rufus Fears, he was unique among professors and the section covering the perils of President Obama’s 1st term begins at the 19:00 mark and is particularly notable.  I for one am very thankful for his years of service as a teacher.

Reducing the Military Budget — Examples in U.S. History

The article Repeating a mistake by down-sizing the Army again is a good read, it is based almost entirely on accurate historical references.  I promise to attempt to be open to opposing arguments based on historical references, statistical data and/or logical well thought-out analyses, but in this blog I refuse to post comments that are based on emotions and/or party-line cliches.

“Moreover, we have to remember the lessons of history. We cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the past — after World War II, after Vietnam — when our military was left ill-prepared for the future.  As commander in chief, I will not let that happen again.  Not on my watch.”

President Obama
